This week a group of journalists, advocates, government leaders, and lawmakers will gather in Washington, D.C. for the annual Sunshine Week conference where they promote open and transparent government processes. Sunshine Week occurs mid-March of every year and is designed to educate people on their right to know what's happening in their government.
Since becoming Mayor in 2020 I have been and remain committed to providing full transparency in the City of Charlestown.
We live-stream every public meeting, post the meeting agendas and content on our website in advance of the meetings, provided our ordinances in an online database, and I proudly share my cell phone and email with everyone so they know I'm accessible at all times. Every month I host a Live! update and Q&A session on my Facebook platform and every week I provide a short Saturday Summary of the things that happened in the City for that week.
Your engagement in our processes and decision making is something I covet. You can rest assured that your voice will always be welcome. Soon we will launch our update process for our city's Comprehensive Plan and zoning ordinances. A part of this process includes community listening sessions. I hope you'll attend and help us shape Charlestown's future. Stay tuned for dates and times. Thank you for helping us Keep Charlestown First!
